Miscellaneous

On this page, you find various topics that do not belong to other sections.

Import of Locations

Starting with version 0.3.3, ohphoneX has the ability to import predefined locations from an external file. The implementation is still very basic and is planned to be improved in future releases. There is no ability to export existing locations into a file. If you are interested in providing such a file, please contact us.

If you want to import a file containing predefined locations, simply open the Preferences window, press the Locations-PopUp-Button and choose "Import locations..." (see picture below). In the Open-Dialog that now opens, choose the file to import and press "OK".
Now, the Locations-PopUp-List should show all new locations that have been imported. Eventually you need to adjust some settings, depending on the content of the imported locations.

Firewall-Setup

If you want to be able to receive incoming calls, you need to set-up the Firewall correctly. We strongly advise you NOT to disable the firewall, although this is easier to accomplish.

That the calls work, the ports 1720 (H.323-signaling) and 5000-5099 (media streams) have to be open. The picture below helps you setting up the firewall in SystemPreferences.app.

  1. Open SystemPreferences.app
  2. Go to the "Sharing" section.
  3. Go to the "Firewall" tab.
  4. Press "New..."
  5. From the Port Name - list, choose "Other" and enter the values as shown below. You may choose another description, of course.
  6. Press "OK" and close the window.
